A lifelong Las Vegas, Nevada resident, Tin Hwang is a first generation Chinese-American with her family roots extending from Taipei and Tainan, Taiwan. Tin Hwang lived in Taipei, Taiwan for nearly two years and she is fluent in Mandarin, Chinese.
Tin Hwang completed her undergraduate studies where she majored in Political Science, Pre-Law where she received her baccalaureate degree. After graduation, she went on to receive her law degree from the University of Nevada Las Vegas, William S. Boyd School of Law. Tin Hwang practiced as a student-attorney while working alongside with other attorneys in the Pro-Bono Student Attorney Program offered at her law school.
Tin Hwang was a member of the Asian Pacific American Law Student Association, Criminal Law Society, and International Law Society. She was involved in a student organization called the Tax Law Society while participating in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program to help low-income families, senior citizens, and others who cannot afford to have an accountant or other tax professionals help them prepare and file their federal income taxes.
She is also a member of the American Bar Association and the Young Lawyer Section. Tin Hwang is currently a Special Legal Advocate for the Asian American Advocacy Clinic which provides legal assistance to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and sex trafficking.
All throughout her years in law school, she joined one of the busiest solo legal practitioner in Las Vegas, Nevada. There, she zealously assisted the attorney in defending the Las Vegas community in almost every court in the State, including the Nevada Supreme Court. In her years at the firm, Tin Hwang gained immeasurable legal experience. |
